A Step in the Right Direction – Line Dancing Fun at Kingsacre

It was boots, hats and big smiles all round as Maggie’s Line Dancers brought a taste of the Wild West to Kingsacre Care Home. With toe-tapping tunes and plenty of cowboy flair, our residents took part in an afternoon of country line dancing, led by the ever-popular Maggie and her fantastic team.
Residents were invited to join in beginner-friendly sessions to learn the two-step and grapevine, with plenty of support and encouragement from Maggie’s crew – and each other. For some, it was a first try at line dancing, while others took to it like naturals, clapping along and picking up the moves with ease.

There was a great sense of community throughout the home, with residents donning cowboy hats, waving flags and getting into the spirit of the occasion. From the smiles in our lounge to the laughter on the dancefloor, it was clear the event had struck just the right chord.
One of the many highlights was seeing residents up on their feet and dancing with staff and visiting performers – all set to the upbeat rhythm of classic country hits. Those who preferred to sit back and soak up the fun joined in by clapping along, waving stars and stripes flags, and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere.

The visit was a lovely way to lift spirits, encourage gentle movement, and create shared moments of joy between residents, staff, and families. It’s events like these that remind us just how much fun life can be at Kingsacre – and how important it is to keep things varied, lively and full of laughter.
