Arts & Crafts

Taking part in group activities while staying with us here at Kingsacre Care Home is a great way to make brand new friends and get a little bit crafty while you’re at it. Even more so when you’re taking part in one of our exciting Arts & Crafts sessions. From painting to sculpting, all the way to collaging, there’s always something new and interesting for our residents to try their nimble fingers at.

Being creative isn’t all about the end result. If you happen to create a masterpiece by the end of one of our Arts & Crafts sessions that looks absolutely amazing, that’s fantastic. However, being creative has plenty of amazing mental and physical benefits that are incredible for our residents at Kingsacre Care Home. So, no matter what you end up creating, you’re bound to have had a great time while creating it.

Get Crafty with Confidence

The thing we love most about getting crafty at Kingsacre Care Home is that there’s no wrong way to do it. Being creative isn’t about rules, regulations and getting things right. It’s about trusting your gut and having the confidence to get things wrong. If your masterpiece doesn’t turn out quite as you’d imagined it, there’s no need to panic. It’s all about perspective, and if you’re having fun creating it and (let’s face it…) getting a little bit messy when it comes to glitter and PVA glue, then we think you’ve definitely succeeded.

Another great thing we love about our arts and crafts sessions here at Kingsacre Care Home is the ability they have to bring residents from all walks of life together. Whether we’re making homemade Play-Doh, decorating eggs just in time for Easter, or getting busy with paper crafts to spread some holiday cheer, getting involved with Arts & Crafts gives many of our residents the confidence to get to know their neighbours and potentially make friends with people they might not have had the chance to do otherwise.

Let Your Imagination Run Wild

We’ve always tried to draw inspiration from our residents, as well as our environment when it comes to our Arts & Crafts programmes at Kingsacre Care Home. We are more than happy to make the most of what we have, whether it’s through throwing fantastic craft classes in the living rooms for our residents and their loved ones or by taking full advantage of the beautiful location we’re lucky enough to live in and taking to the garden to take some stunning photographs or paint some incredible pictures.
